Yesterday, Sunday 6 May 2012, the 16th edition of the Cosmofarma Exhibition closed with an increased attendance with respect to its preceding editions. The show hence confirms its leadership in the pharmaceutical industry both in Italy and in Europe.
This 16th Roman edition was attended by more than 22.000 operators (+4,6% compared to the last edition).
Cosmofarma presented a high profile of exhibitors giving great attention to the most important enterprises in both the Italian and foreign pharmaceutical scenario as well as reinforcing its identity as a show with an international outlook.
Conventions, workshops and events have created an increasingly exciting, dynamic and original forum. Numbers on a definite rise with respect to previous editions are a precise and unquestionable sign: the market demands renovation, quality, and research. Such data is also confirmed by insiders, who unanimously expressed their appreciation for the Cosmofarma Exhibition role as the privileged stage and of great resonance for the entire pharmacy world.
“The increase in the attendance and the presence of the most important multinationals in the industry” states Duccio Campagnoli, President of the Bolognafiere Group and of Sogecos, the company organizing Cosmofarma “proves that we have taken the correct path to become a great show, with an international outlook, to become an important protagonist of the fair as well as in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry. The meeting for next year is in Bologna, where there will be Cosmofarma and Cosmoprof, Cosmopack and Pharmintech that will hence represent the complete technological chain of the industry in BolognaFiere”.
“There were three intense days, full of meetings and stimulating discussions which offered an array of information to reflect on how the pharmacy should evolve to face with the changes underway. As it has emerged from the numerous conventions organized in this edition of Cosmofarma” declares Annarosa Racca, President Federfarma “the pharmacy is going to face a great challenge due to by the recent Italian laws on liberalization, by the economical downturn, by structural changes in society. Such a challenge can be faced by leveraging on the pharmacy’s strong points: the diffused distribution on the territory, the relationship of trust with the citizen, the very high quality of services – and welcoming the opportunity for growth offered by the change. Implement the new regulations on services is a must: it is necessary to renovate the domestic pharmaceutical agreement within a short time based on the inspiration resulting from some tests already positively started in several regions for that which concerns the direct responsibility for patients, of home help, of the monitoring of therapies. In fact, the agreement is the appointed instrument to define the implementation of such services, of their remuneration and of the drug”.
“Despite a not particularly easy situation for Italian the pharmacy, Cosmofarma has again proven this year to be in the position to create a moment of aggregation and confrontation that are important for the profession. And contemporarily, considering the high attendance of exhibitors, the interest of the production world in our reality has been confirmed. An unquestionably positive sign” says Andrea Mandelli, President of the Italian Pharmacists Association.
The calendar of conventions presented at Cosmofarma greatly enhanced the exhibition and gave cues and evidence, industry analysis, in-depth discussion on drugs. The “Liberalizations” decided by the Monti government were at the focus of the institutional convention organized by Fofi and Federfarma as well as at other various appointments.
Over the three days there were a series of seminars and workshops, some of which were absolutely necessary to obtain ECM credits.
The Gala night held on 4 May on the splendid terrace of the Boscolo Exedra Hotel was also a great moment for networking among selected pharmacists, Federfarma and Fofi institutions and the most prominent enterprises in the industry. During the cocktail dinner the following prestigious awards were given:
– Young Pharmacists, given this year by Fenagifar and Cosmofarma to Miss Elisabetta Maione
– Pharmaceutical Counter given to the Conferenza dei Presidi delle Facoltà di Farmacia (Conference of Deans of Pharmacy Faculties)
