Cosmofarma Exhibition, the leading BolognaFiere event in Europe for products and services relating to the pharmacy world, will be returning to Bologna from April 17th-19th 2015.
27,566 visitors attended the 2014 edition, with a 13% increase in participants from Italy and a 22% increase from other countries.
In 2014 Cosmofarma Exhibition hosted 356 exhibitors and over 600 brands from the largest manufacturers and distributors of drugs, cosmetics, nutritional supplements and medical devices, both in Italy and worldwide. Leading firms in the services for pharmacies sector, from furnishings to signs to software, played a key role in the success of the last edition.
Cosmofarma is proud to be sponsored by Federfarma, the federation which represents over 16,000 Italian pharmacies, and is delighted to announce the renewal of their partnership in creating special initiatives for Italian pharmacists.
The fair, which is backed by Cosmetica Italia’s Gruppo Cosmetici in Farmacia, will once again be focusing in 2015 on the new professional needs of the entire pharmacy network. It is a not-to-be-missed event for anybody who wants to increase their professional contacts and discover new products and innovations in the sector.
The 19th edition, with its title “The Future is Today”, will focus on research and innovation, two vital factors to be considered when we look towards the sector’s future. It will be an opportunity for debate and in-depth analysis of the pharmacy world in order to develop the business in line with the current economic scenario.
Research and innovation are becoming increasingly important within pharmaceutical companies’ strategies, and Cosmofarma is playing more of a “fair of projects” role. In order to get through the economic crisis, businesses are going back to projects, ideas, technological and digital elements and manual skills and to our history of exceptional entrepreneurial success stories. Using our links with the local area as a starting point, we look out towards international markets through our ability to innovate with processes, communication and advertising.
Cosmofarma supports firms in this phase of their development and world-renowned industry players, speakers and opinion makers will be exploring particularly relevant themes. Workshops and meetings will explain how to progress along the road of innovation.
In view of this focus on new projects in the pharmacy world, Cosmofarma Exhibition will be providing four focus areas to set the tone of the fair’s packed programme of conventions. OTCs, over-the-counter drugs for self-medication, will be taking centre stage. These drugs don’t require a medical prescription and represent vast potential savings for national health services. The fair’s second focus area will be dermocosmetics. With a turnover of around 2 billion euros, this area represents a fundamental element of pharmacies’ budgets. In keeping with the theme of Expo 2015, dedicated to nutrition, Cosmofarma will be focusing on diet in relation to health and wellness, with reference to healthy lifestyle and good dietary habits. The fourth and final focus area will explore the technology for pharmacies sector, in terms both of providing support for managing pharmacies and of providing a service for customers.
The “Dermocosm – Vita Cutis” scientific convention will be held at Cosmofarma for the first time. This event will bring together dermatologists, cosmetic doctors and plastic surgeons, with Professor Antonino di Pietro at the helm as scientific director. It will be sponsored by ISPLAD – Società Internazionale-Italiana di Dermatologia, Plastica-Estetica ed Oncologica (the International-Italian Society of Plastic-Regenerative and Oncologic Dermatology) – and prestigious medical associations.
Diet will be the subject of conventions organised by Professor Enrico Roda, professor of gastroenterology at the University of Bologna. He will be illustrating the link between good diet and healthy lifestyle and the body’s health and wellbeing.
Cosmofarma Exhibition is still aiming to be the landmark platform for the pharmaceutical world on an international level in 2015. The International Buyer Programme will continue: in 2014 over 600 B2B meetings were organised with 30 top buyers from 17 countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Iran, Ireland, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.
Cosmofarma Exhibition will once again house special areas dedicated to in-depth exploration and specific projects. 2015 sees the return of Farmacia Prestige, the format which hosts high-end companies and brands and offers new content to pharmacists aiming to diversify their range and stand out from the mass market.
Beauty Farma will also be back thanks to the fair’s partnership with Cosmetica Italia. This is an area dedicated to live demonstrations and in-depth analysis focusing on beauty treatments in pharmacies. Beauty services are increasingly sought after by customers in pharmacies and pharmacists need to adapt to the demands of the market by offering a more therapeutic approach to treatments.
Make-Up in Farma is dedicated to the world of cosmetics in pharmacies. This area looks particularly at make-up used for camouflage, which could become another service that pharmacies offer customers.
In addition to all this, Cosmofarma has also organised for the first time a programme of road shows in partnership with various Italian chambers of commerce. The event will be represented at the sector’s most influential trade fairs in Europe, with the aim of publicising its image and making its presence increasingly felt on a European level.
The first stop was Munich, followed by Birmingham, Malmö and finally Madrid. Cosmofarma had its own stand and met companies and professionals from the international pharmaceutical world.
New partnerships and contacts are being made with local agencies in order to create wider publicity for Cosmofarma Exhibition, organised by the BolognaFiere Group, and increase opportunities for business between exhibiting companies and international professional operators and distributors.
